If she's dressed as something, I wouldn't know.

This girl was sooooo cute. This was the most age appropriate costume of the con. It was knee length, she had bloomers on under it, and the shoes were cute little mary janes (no hooker shoes for this girl).

Katara and Toph (from Avatar:the Last Airbender)

The best Harley I've ever seen

I like the Phoenix but they were a group. The boy Jubilee was weird but it wasn't the worst I'd see that day.

It wasn't all pretty. There were a ton of boys in dresses. I've seen it done before, but this was different... It wasn't pretty and there was a lot of it.

Oh, and this is what I wore. I need to accessorize.

the rest of the pics can be found here http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v603/annawick/A-Kon%202008/?start=0
Is is a sign of a good costume that as you put it on you think to yourself, "Damn, it's gonna suck when I need to go potty." Pics will follow after the weekend. It's my annual A-Kon venture.

p.s. yes, I call it potty. One day I might actually call it a restroom or bathroom, but as long as I'm asking a kid if he needs to go potty every 30 minutes, potty it is.

bleh, in my old age I'm developing allergies. Of all the things I could be allergic to my body chooses dust (my mom is too). Dust. Anyone who has been to my house knows the irony. I am a little sneeze factory.

on another allergic note... On the way to Scarborough one day I stopped at CVS to get some cold/allergy drugs for Lex (generic Diamatap Cold & Allergy). When we got to the Faire Lex had hives along his chin line and across his tummy. It was his first reaction to anything. We went straight to the first aid area. Turns out that my kiddo is allergic to that allergy medicine.

happy earth day... and stuff

Today really is just another day. I'm not doing anything special or different. I have made more changes in the last year that I hope make a difference. I know some of these changes are saving me money in the long run. For example, I haven't bought paper towels in a long while. I've bought small towels (in packages of five or seven, it's been a while since I've bought any). They've been working well as napkins, spill clean upers, etc. Other things I've been trying to do... started a compost pile, use reusable bags when shopping (I've been pretty forgetful tho, oops), I started making my own cleaners (50/50 vinegar and water), and I'm pretty good about making sure that recyclable stuff makes it into the recycle bin. There are things I still plan to change. There will always be something to improve upon tho.
